Over the last year I have been less and less inclined to do Holiday's the "traditional" way. Easter this year is one of those ( like Valentine's which we did nothing for) that I put off and wasn't sure how to go about it. Stephen and I decided that they would each get a new church outfit ( pictures coming) and follow a tradition that they did when he was growing up. They each woke up to a tiny porcelin basket, that they each got to paint one year, filled with a small amount of candy at their place at the table. The only thing we mentioned about Easter this year was the talk we had in the car parked in the driveway about Christ's death and resurection. That was such a spiritually powerful moment, one that will stay with me forever, and that I am grateful I got to share with the kids. That was it, and the next morning the kids woke up not even caring or asking if the Easter Bunny came, it was very neat. We told them to go check the kitchen and they were so grateful and it was such a wonderful morning. We did go to Stephen's brothers house and the kids got to color eggs with their cousins and go on a hunt. It was a fun, peaceful day that revolved more around the spirit and we enjoyed it so much!
